How can you tell that a website is safe? Here are some pointers:
- Look for evidence of a security certificate and make sure that the details of that certificate are up-to-date. Most security certificates should show the "active" dates so that customers can ensure that the certificate has not expired. Bubbles Bodywear uses a Thawte SSL certificate, security provided by from the globally
recognized certificate authority.
- Check for membership with the Better Business Bureau. A reputable or "real" company will be a member of their state/local BBB and will display the BBB logo on their website. Make sure to click on that logo to view the company's rating. Bubbles Bodywear is proud to say that we have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau while online Bubbles copycat companies have an F- rating!
- Never enter personal information into a shopping cart page that doesn't have a closed padlock displayed in the browser (top of Internet Explorer window and at the bottom of the Firefox window).
- If you receive an email that seems to be authentic from a bank, credit card company or anyone asking for personal or financial information, never click through to that website. Instead, to access the website in question, type the company name into your web browser (or into Google or Yahoo!) to find an enter the website. that way you know that you're not being redirected to a phishing site.
